UNSW fundraising director

The university has appointed Elizabeth Nield to the newly created position of director, development. Nield will be responsible for leading a team of development managers to secure philanthropic support through alumni, business, industry and community groups for research priorities, capital works and indigenous and low-SES programs and scholarships. Nield, with degrees in law and arts, comes to UNSW from Opera Australia, where she was a marketing and communications director. Previous positions include marketing and development director with the English National Ballet and the Bell Shakespeare Company in Sydney. “Philanthropic support for the university has increased significantly in recent years and Liz’s experience and attributes make her the ideal person to continue to grow this support,” said chief executive of UNSW Foundation Jennifer Bott.
