Monash new pro vice-chancellor

Internationally recognised educator, researcher and anatomist, Professor Darrell Evans will join Monash University in January as the new pro vice-chancellor (teaching and learning). Evans trained as an anatomist and developmental biologist, gaining his PhD at Aberdeen University, Scotland, before working as a researcher at Cornell University in the US and then as a lecturer and senior lecturer at Cardiff University and Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) in the UK. Whilst at BSMS, Evans gained a professorship in developmental tissue biology and in 2008 became head of anatomy, associate dean and more recently the acting head of the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine. His responsibilities will include aspects of the management of curriculum reform, as well as redesign of administration and processes to ensure students and staff experience the best in educational innovation.
