La Trobe deputy VC (academic)

Professor Jane Long will become the new deputy vice-chancellor (academic) at La Trobe University. Long is currently pro vice-chancellor (education) and Winthrop Professor of History at the University of Western Australia, where her responsibilities include teaching and learning planning and policy, quality assurance, institutional benchmarking and e-learning. She also has responsibility for admissions planning and policy for international and domestic students, the student learning experience (including cultural competence) and regional educational initiatives. She is a Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TESQA) accredited national auditor, and has been a Fellow o the Royal Historical Society (UK) since 1999. Long will begin her new appointment late this month.
