  1. Generally speaking, the trade jobs mentioned in the article have very low levels of wages. For instance, getting an overseas qualification in plumbing is not likely to increase their pay in their home countries. Given the high costs of getting an overseas education, there is not much economic sense in seeking training in either Australia or New Zealand.
