TAFE institute gets new CEO

Dr Andy Giddy has taken over as chief executive of the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT) following the retirement of long-serving former CEO, Brian MacDonald. Giddy studied veterinary science at the University of Melbourne and bioethics at UTS and the London Business School. He worked as a vet before moving into biotechnology research. He has also worked as a business consultant including reviewing the Queensland VET (Vocational, Education and Training) sector. Giddy was CEO of Nucleus Network, a not-for-profit medical research and education company before taking on the NMIT job. He has been a NMIT board member since 2006 and board president since 2009. He takes up the role of CEO with an understanding of NMITs current strategic objectives, educational and operational culture.
