James appointed to PVC position at Melbourne

Professor Richard James has been appointed pro vice-chancellor (participation and engagement) at the University of Melbourne. Active in higher education research across a range of policy areas, his work on access and equity has been particularly influential. Recently he has been a member of the DEEWR expert group developing a new national performance indicator framework. He will remain director of the Centre for the Study of Higher Education.
