The appointments of Denise Bradley and Kaye Schofield as interim chairs of the fledgling higher education and national VET regulators has calmed nerves, but there is a long way to go in a short period of time.

The two newly appointed interim chairs of the embryonic higher education and VET regulators have moved to reassure both sectors that they will drive a united, coherent and integrated approach from this point on. Professor Denise Bradley, interim chair of the higher education regulator TEQSA and Kaye Schofield, interim chair of the national VET regulator told Campus Review they were confident they would work towards a common goal of a single tertiary regulator which would be ready to be merged in 2013.
