The problem with equity

We must look beyond what works and engage with what equity means, says Trevor Gale. Student equity is a problem. Part of the problem is that Australian higher education is no longer a closed system. It is no longer the only higher education available to Australians. It is still important to pursue proportional representation of population groups within the system and it remains the responsibility of every Australian university to contribute equally to equity.
