<p>As part of our commitment to becoming a leading online educator providing industry relevant experience, we are undertaking massive investment in our online courses, their delivery and infrastructure foundations in all of our faculties.  To support our growth this new role will provide leadership to the Health and Wellness Faculty which incorporates four iconic brands; ACNT, ANCB, SSNT and JNI.</p>
<p>Based in our new purpose built campus in Pyrmont, in this newly created role we are looking for an experienced online educator to manage, motivate and inspire our staff and students.  As part of the online leadership team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the virtual campus and ensure that we set up the best possible facilities and processes for the future of online learning.</p>
<p><b>Your responsibilities will also include:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Taking overall responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the online campus</li>
<li>Operationalising the individual college strategies across the virtual campus, identifying new business opportunities</li>
<li>Managing and leading the online team to ensure we are delivering the best possible service to students</li>
<li>Building strong relationships between the academic staff and online teams for consistency and best practice in our courses and their delivery</li>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing activities to ensure the quality of the University’s processes and performance, including implementation of reviews of organisational areas and activities, assisting with the University’s planning and reporting cycle and the development and implementation of other processes as required to ensure that appropriate standards are maintained.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">The incumbent will also develop and implement strategies to promote and support the integration of quality assurance mechanisms in organisational areas across the University.</span></p>

Macquarie University seeks to develop research programs of high quality which are closely linked to Australian/international industry and other end-user organisations and communities.</p>
<p><b>The roles</b></p>
<p>The purpose of the Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor&#8217;s Innovation Fellowship (MQVCIF) Scheme is to attract outstanding researchers to the University who will focus on developing effective research collaborations with Australian/international organisations from industry, commerce, government and community groups, which will ultimately attract substantial external research funding through ARC Linkage Projects (or similar), or individual research contracts. The research may be undertaken in any discipline area of the University however it must be aligned to designated areas of research strength.</p>
<p>Up to three full-time MQVCIFs will be appointed at academic Level B (Lecturer) or Level C (Senior Lecturer) according to qualifications and experience. MQVCIFs will be awarded on a competitive basis and will commence from 1 February 2014.</p>
<p><b>Eligibility:</b> Hold a PhD or demonstrable equivalent at the time of application and be able to provide concrete evidence of experience in developing and sustaining effective research collaboration with industry or relevant government/community organisations. Please refer to the <a href="http://www.research.mq.edu.au/for/researchers/applying_for_grants/other_external_funding/mqvcif" target="_blank">MQVCIF Funding Rules</a> for full eligibility criteria.</p>
<p><b>Appointment Type:</b> Full-time, fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance. There will be provision for renewal for up to 5 further years, subject to satisfactory performance against agreed objectives.</p>

<p><b><i>Lecturer (Level B):</i></b> Base salary from $88,741 to $104,996 per annum, plus annual leave loading and 17% employer superannuation.</p>
<p><b><i>Senior Lecturer (Level C):</i></b> Base salary from $108,354 to $124,607 per annum, plus annual leave loading and 17% employer superannuation.</p>
<p>Candidates may also apply for up to $40,000 (maximum of $20,000 each year) to assist with research costs associated with the proposed Fellowship project in the first two years.</p>

<div>POSITION PURPOSE</div>
<p>The position oversees and coordinates the Universities strategic and business planning processes and communications; represents the University at a number of committees and forums; regularly undertakes strategic analyses and authors strategy papers and business reports for submission to executive staff and committees of University. The analyst manages communication strategies, leads efficiency and system improvements, verifies the accuracy of benchmarking data and proactively seeks to improve Deakin’s position in benchmarking activities.</p>

<div>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES</div>

<li>Conduct research; source, extract, analyse and transform data from complex structures; provide meaningful reports, advice and recommendations to Deakin’s executive, Committees, FIOAs and external clients.</li>
<li>Bring a multi perspective understanding of University functions and devise new ways of adapting to internal and external demands to ensure the development, carriage, marketing and implementation of new ways of reporting.</li>
<li>Initiate, conceptualise and implement stakeholder communication strategies and manage client expectation.</li>
<li>Proactively conduct environment scans to identify University benchmark instruments; verify their accuracy; analyse factors that drive performance and recommend strategies for improving Deakin’s position.</li>
<li>Lead process, efficiency and system improvements to increase the quality of information provided for external compliance obligations and internal decision making.</li>
<li>Ensure the implementation of all University policies that relate to the areas for which the position is responsible, in particular, those relating to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, risk management, staff development and staff performance planning and review</li>
