Award nominations open for international students

The Council of International Students Australia (CISA) has opened nominations for an inaugural International Student of the Year award.
To be presented at CISA’s annual conference in Brisbane in July, the award will recognise one student’s outstanding academic achievement and contribution to the wider community while living in Australia. An independent committee of industry and government representatives will select the award winner. “We’re looking for a well-rounded student who’s going to be the ambassador for international students for the next 12 months,” said CISA president Arfa Noor said.
The three-day CISA conference, The Future Leaders of Our World will feature multiple higher education panels as well as workshops to equip students for success in Australia. The conference will precede the next international student roundtable, to be held with Australian policymakers in Canberra in August.
