Kofman to head Melbourne business faculty

Professor Paul Kofman is to become the new dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne. Currently deputy dean and professor of finance, Kofman, succeeds Professor Margaret Abernethy as faculty dean. Abernethy has stepped down after eight years to become the first Sir Douglas Copland chair of commerce within the faculty. Kofman, received his PhD (Economics) from the Netherlands’ Erasmus University in 1991, has been at Melbourne since 2001, including a stint as a head of department. He was also the younger researcher program director of the ARC Financial Integrity Research Network from 2005-2010. Before joining Melbourne, Kofman held senior roles at Monash University, UNSW and UTS.
